Can't 'social distance' any more than heading back up to the Eastern Sierra. Just south of Mammoth Lakes, the Rock Creek (canyon) area of the Eastern Sierra. Back country with lakes, mountains, forests, and everything you'd hope for. Unfortunately, to access all these amazing hikes here, you have to - once again - hike to get to the hike. The Mosquito Flats trailhead is 3 miles (each way) from the gate (closed), so, until they open the campgrounds, we were stuck at Rock Creek lake, elevation 9700'. No hike, but hey - marked for future exploration.
This blog chronicles my travels - mostly around my home state of California - but on rare occasions, other areas as well. Hopefully, these photos capture the majesty, grandeur, and breathtaking beauty of the landscapes I’ve witnessed firsthand on these trips over the last few years. Luckily, for me, it really doesn’t take much to heed the call of nature, to pull me from the comforts of home and to prepare for another grand adventure. So buckle up, plug in and strap in - we’re going for a ride.
