Just north of Mono Lake and just south of Virginia Lakes, there is the Lake Canyon Trail in Lundy Canyon. Slightly over 8000' elevation, I hit the trail to see how far I could get. Alas a little over a mile in, on the incline, unpassable snow on upper levels of the trail, so... time to turn around. But not without some amazing photos of my picturesque surroundings and the turquoise lake itself.
