Hike: Eastern Sierra, Trip 2, Part 5: Lamarck Lake / May 2020
Lamarck Lakes. In the North Lake area of the Eastern Sierra Nevada mountains, right outside the mountain community of Aspendell. As this was the third hike in what was shaping up to
be a very long day full of strenuous activity, I didn't make it to the
lake - but it was within reach. Not a particularly
long or hard trail - though the last mile or so is pretty steep and as the starting point was around 9,600', strenuous mostly because of the elevation - but the views
are truly epic, especially at that height.
Length: 4 miles / Elevation gain: 1,627' /
Highest Elevation Point: 11,098'.
This blog chronicles my travels - mostly around my home state of California - but on rare occasions, other areas as well. Hopefully, these photos capture the majesty, grandeur, and breathtaking beauty of the landscapes I’ve witnessed firsthand on these trips over the last few years. Luckily, for me, it really doesn’t take much to heed the call of nature, to pull me from the comforts of home and to prepare for another grand adventure. So buckle up, plug in and strap in - we’re going for a ride.
