Various photos from different locations as we made our way from Los Angeles to Bishop to Virginia Lakes, back down to Mono Lakes, Mammoth, June Lake, Independence and back to LA in a 3-day weekend. What an awesome trip. So awesome, in fact, we made another trip there 2 weeks later.. and we'll be repeating the journey (with different stops and a change in hike scenery) soon enough.
First up - Mono Lake Vista point, just north of the lake. Incredible view.
Mt. Whitney - at 14,505', it's the highest mountain in the lower 48 - from the highway (SR395) and heading up a short little detour from Whitney Portal road.
The CalTech radio telescopes in Owens Valley. If you dig astronomy and deep (space) conversations, who doesn't appreciate these... especially their importance in exploring the stars and the search for extra terrestrial intelligence? SETI welcomes you. Luckily, I didn't see any Storm CalTech trolls here...
Tioga Pass. Currently closed - not for the lack of trying to get through on our part - because of Covid-19 closures - but the drive to it is still pretty nice. Hopefully by the time you read this (and I post this!) it will have been opened.
